Nescot is a forward-looking College of Further & Higher Education that serves a large area of South East England with a wide range of vocational and academic courses, both full and part time.
In 2014/15 there were 8,831 students enrolled on all forms of provision at the college, of whom 6,101 were on FE programmes (including apprenticeships). The college currently offers courses in 13 of the 15 sector skills areas. Some 22% of enrolments were on foundation learning courses, 48% at level 2, 12% at level 3. 76% of these were enrolled on part-time courses. 53% of all students were male and 47% were female. 22% of students were of minority ethnic origin, which is significantly above the local Surrey average of 9.6% and 14.1% for Epsom and Ewell. Nescot also provides a significant number of higher education (HE) programmes, with 290 full-time equivalent (FTE) funded learners in 2014/15.
The College is dynamic and ambitious and is working towards ‘Outstanding’ and the College has made great strides forward in all areas since our last inspection in 2010 when Ofsted rated Nescot as Outstanding for Leadership, Management, Capacity to Improve, Care & Support for Students, Tutorials, Enrichment, Safeguarding and Financial Management.
