The Employer Hub: How does it help Nescot students?

Are you looking for a part-time job while you’re studying at Nescot? Are you about to finish your course at the college and need a full-time position to start your career? Do you need to find somewhere to do work experience as part of your course? Perhaps you’d like to take an apprenticeship course at the college but haven’t found paid employment yet.

The Employer Hub will help you from the start of the process to the end. If you’re not sure what kind of job would suit you, the staff will help you narrow down your search until you’ve found some roles you’d enjoy. They can also show you where to look for vacancies, keep you informed of recruitment events, and explain how to access the so-called hidden jobs market.

The staff can also help you with your CV, whether you have never prepared one before or have one ready which needs polishing. The Employer Hub offer workshops in interview techniques and how to research a company, as well as mock interviews, and will help you develop the thought processes and behaviour which will help you get and keep a job.

The Employer Hub staff also visit tutorial groups throughout the year as part of Nescot’s focus on employability and enterprise. The team will focus on your mindset, because studies have shown that putting forward the right attitude on your CV triples your chance of getting, and keeping, the best jobs.
