Nescot's Higher Education Awards Ceremony takes place in the Diomed Room, Duchess's Stand, Epsom Downs Racecourse. The next Ceremony will be held on Friday 24th February 2017.
On the day, the Ceremony will start promptly at 2.15 pm, and will finish between 3.30 and 3.45 pm. Registration opens at 11.00 am: Please register by latest 1.15 pm to allow time for gowning. You and your guests should be seated in the Diomed Room by 1.45 pm.
After the Ceremony, graduates and their guests are invited to the Principal's Reception in the Lammtarra Room for light refreshments. The event is usually over by 4.30pm.
Invitations are sent out by mail in October/November to all those eligible for an award. To be eligible, you must:
- Have fully completed and achieved your programme of study
- Have fully paid your course fees and any other fees.
Please book your attendance online, ensuring that your names are spelled correctly as this is how the names will be shown in the programme. There is no charge for graduand tickets but please ensure you register to confirm your attendance, with payment for any guest tickets. Due to space restrictions in the hall, guest tickets are limited to two per graduand, though we would be happy to put your name on a waiting list should more spaces become available. A complimentary programme and light refreshments after the ceremony are included. If you wish to cancel any tickets, please contact the Events Office.
Guest tickets will be posted to the address on the online booking form approximately two weeks before the event. Graduand tickets must be collected on the day at the Registration desk, Duchess's Stand, Epsom Downs Racecourse. It is important that you let us know on the booking form of any special requirements (e.g. access, seating) as once seats have been allocated it will be difficult to make amendments.
The ceremony is a formal academic occasion and academic dress must be worn by all graduands. No graduand can be presented with their award on the stage if they are not wearing a gown. The College has appointed Ede & Ravenscroft to provide a gown hire service, which will cost between £40.00 and £50.00 per student. Please deal with your gowning order as soon as you receive your invitation by going online to www.gownhire.co.uk or calling 01223 861 854. It is important that you order the correct gown for your award and awarding body. If you are in any doubt, please contact the Events Team.
Gowns are collected on the day from the Gowning Box which is situated on Level 2 of the Duchess's Stand, Epsom Downs Racecourse. Your gown must be returned by 4.30 pm.
Professional photographers from Ede & Ravenscroft will be available before and after the ceremony for commemorative portraits to be taken, and full details can be obtained from their website at www.edeandravenscroft.co.uk. Please ensure that you allow sufficient time for your photographs to be taken as the studios can get very busy.
The Photographers will be situated in the Oaks Hall on the Ground Floor of the Duchess's Stand, Epsom Downs Racecourse.
