Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leadership

Apprenticeships are a popular choice for people aged 16 or above, looking for on the job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage.  Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace.

An Apprenticeship in Team Leading will develop your employability skills.  This qualification would be suitable for anyone who leads a team to support organisational objectives, including supporting team members, resolving problems and project management.  Staff will have a range of job titles e.g. team leader, section leader, trainee supervisor, team co-ordinator. Your exact duties will depend upon your employer.

Where possible staff from the College Apprenticeship Team will help you find an employer and place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer).  Your offer of Apprenticeship training will be dependent on work places being available.

Employers will look for:
o Good communication skills
o Reliability, flexibility and good timekeeping
o Ability to work in a team as well as on your own initiative
o Enthusiasm and willingness to learn

Course Details

To gain the full apprenticeship you will work towards the following qualifications:

• Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading
• Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading Principles
• Functional Skills Mathematics Level 1
• Functional Skills English Level 1
• Functional Skills ICT Level 1
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities Workbook (ERR)

The Certificate in the Team Leading will relate specifically to your job role. However you may be expected to attend a number of workshops to build your knowledge.
 
Course Assessment:
You will be continually assessed throughout your training. Your progress will be reviewed regularly and achievable targets set, to ensure you complete your apprenticeship on time.

Entry Requirements

GCSE grades A*-C in English, Maths and ICT an advantage otherwise minimum Entry Level 3 at initial assessment in English, Maths and ICT are required You will need to demonstrate an interest in Team Leading.

All applicants for Apprenticeship training will be required to attend interview and undertake initial assessments prior to enrolment.
