The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Qualifications are awarded by one of the world's leading membership organisations for the accounting profession with over 100,000 members.

These qualifications are highly regarded by employers and will provide you with the skills to work in many different kinds of companies and organisations in a wide variety of job opportunities.

Accounting: Level 2 AAT Certificate - Part Time Day/Evening

Course Details

The QCF is a new framework for creating and accrediting qualifications.  The NVQ system will no longer be available.

There are three levels:

•Level 2 Certificate in Accounting – 24 credits
•Level 3 Diploma in Accounting – 41 credits
•Level 4 Diploma in Accounting – 41-44 credits
If you do not wish to complete the full scheme, you may attempt one level.

In addition to College attendance, you will need to spend several hours each week on home study.

Learning and Assessment

•Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
•Basic accounting 1
•Basic accounting II
•Work effectively in accounting and finance
•Basic costing
•Computerised accounting  
Assessment: by a combination computer based assessment (centrally set and assessed by AAT) and AAT e-delivered project/case study or work based evidence (locally assessed by centre if required).

Entry Requirements

The course is suitable for anyone who is 19 or over whether or not in current employment.   The applicant should have a GCSE in both Maths and English at Grade C or above or equivalent qualifications and evidence of these should be brought to the interview. If you do not have these qualifications you will be required to satisfactorily complete a basic skills tests in numeracy, literacy and comprehension.  All applicants will be required to satisfactorily complete an AAT Initial Assessment which will be followed by an interview with one of the AAT tutors.
