Life Skills for Adults: Entry Level Certificate
Other InformationSuccess at Entry level 2 can enable learners to progress to entry level 3 programmes. Other learners may move into employment through the transition programme where support is available in partnership with Surrey Employability for learners to succeed in the workplace or to independent living.
These programmes are for adults who need a structured approach to their studies and who would benefit from a personalised learning plan which is destination led. They need to show a willingness to learn and a focus on achieving their goals in order to move on to higher level courses, to employment or independent living.
At college they will develop the skills needed to progress whilst being challenged to achieve beyond their expectations. They will have strong pastoral support and will benefit from embedded functional skills of English, Maths and ICT in the curriculum. Personalised learning plans will be put in place for all learners and one of the first questions asked is what do they want to do and how will they achieve it.
Enrichment activities are available to widen the learners’ experience of college and to improve their social skills and make new friends. There are options available for activities before college and during breaks to ensure learners have full access to college facilities as well as a safe haven if they are anxious about being in a larger environment.
The college will work closely with external agencies to arrange support for learners and to progress them wherever possible to employment.
