Carpentry & Joinery: Level 1 CSKILLS Diploma

There will be a combination of practical and theory sessions, which will enable you to gain good practical skills with underpinning job knowledge of Carpentry and Joinery. Carpentry and joinery is one of the most rewarding trades. A great deal of the work produced involves you using hand tools to work raw timber, creating something with little resemblance to the tree it came from.

Course Details

There will be a combination of practical and theory sessions which will enable you to gain good practical skills with underpinning job knowledge of Carpentry and Joinery. You will work towards achieving 6 units of competence throughout the year which will culminate in an end of Year City & Guilds examination.

Modules:

  • Safe Working Procedures
  • Information, Quantities and Communicating with others
  • Building Methods and Construction Technology
  • Basic Woodworking Joints
  • Maintain and Use Hand Tools
  • Prepare and Use Portable Power Tools

Functional Skills in Numeracy, Literacy and ICT are included in the Full Time programme along with both group, one to one tutorials, PSD Award and enrichment activities.  This course is full-time. You will be given details of course materials, stationery and the health and safety equipment you will require when you enrol on the programme.
