What to expect
This course is the ideal starting point for students who wish to be Outdoor Adventurers as you will be trained in the different disciplines required to work in this industry. You will learn about the principles of anatomy and physiology in outdoor sports, assessing risk in outdoor sports as well as more physical units involving exercise training for clients.
This course is made up of both practical and assignment-based activities which makes the learning fun and interesting. Educational visits form an important part of this course and guest speakers from the different outdoor providers visit us throughout the year.
We will take you up to instructor standard in various land and water-based adventurous activities. You will then need to attend National Governing Body award courses at your own expense to qualify as an outdoor instructor in your chosen sport/s.
You will be provided with all the basic resources and materials needed for your programme. Some additional fees are required to cover costs of trips and activities required. This will be approximately £300.

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, or Level 2 Diploma plus English.
From this course you can either progress into Higher Education, undertake an Accelerated Instructed Training course or pursue a career in Outdoor Education.
