HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Report)

The Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) replaces the printed diploma supplement. The HEAR is an electronic record of student achievement verified by the College. It includes the information about a student's academic achievements that was previously provided on the diploma supplement, plus additional academic details and non-academic activities completed during their course at NESCOT.

Students can make the report available to potential employers and future academic institutions to support employability and further study. NESCOT only produces HEARs in a digital format.  Only HEARs accessed via the College Academic Registry HEAR@nescot.ac.uk can be considered valid and verified.

What is a HEAR?

The Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) is designed to encourage a more sophisticated approach to recording student achievement, which acknowledges fully the range of opportunities that higher education institutions in the UK offer to their students. The HEAR was launched in 2008 (with 18 institutions) following recommendations that universities needed to be able to provide a more comprehensive record of student achievement.

Currently, 90 universities and colleges are implementing or planning to implement the HEAR. This includes 32 institutions who have already issued 427,000 HEARs to students – and this number is increasing annually. The Higher Education Academy (HEA) provides the national support for the implementation and maintenance of the HEAR.
