Two Nescot learners competed and were successful in their respective fields at the UK finals of WorldSkills UK, which took place at Milton Keynes on the 2nd and 3rd of July, 2010.
Paul Tan won Gold in the Microsoft Office Specialist event, whilst Simon Mills gained silver in the Microsoft Network Administrator event.
Prior to the event all the students taking part spent much of their free time and weekends revising and preparing for the competition. Fortunately, the extra hard work paid off in Milton Keynes.
50 people competed in six different competitions over the two days in the following skills:
- CISCO Network Technician
- Graphic Design
- Microsoft Network Administrator
- Microsoft Office Applications
- Microsoft IT Technician
- Web Design
Each competitor was awarded with a Certificate of Participation in recognition of their achievement. Congratulations to Paul, Simon and all the Nescot learners who took part in World Skills UK 2010.
