23/02/2010Hats Off to Nescot Graduates
Over 500 graduates and their guests attended Nescot’s HE Awards ceremony on Friday 12th February.
For the first time in many years the celebration was held locally – this year with the stunning backdrop of the downs at Epsom Downs Race Course.
The Pro-Chancellor of the University of Surrey, Baroness Virginia Bottomley, conferred Surrey degrees to qualifying students and in her address paid tribute to the hard work and dedication of the graduates, many of whom had studied part-time at the college whilst holding down jobs and juggling family comittments.
Graduates came from a range of disciplines, including the nationally renowned Perfusion and Acoustics departments, Osteopathy, Teacher Training, Photography, Biomedical Science, Computing, Environmental Health, Health and Social Care, Media Arts, Sports Therapy and Business.
After the ceremony graduates, guests and staff celebrated their success at a champagne reception hosted by the college principal, Sunaina Mann.
