Nescot has recognised the considerable benefits to be achieved in putting staff and student health and well-being on its agenda. The College has taken a co-ordinated approach to identifying the need for these services and has committed to their implementation from the very top with the full support of the Principal and Governors.
The College has used the outcomes of a self review tool to develop a targeted action plan. New health services are being introduced at the college in partnership with the Surrey PCT, Weightwatchers and a range of external companies.
The results of the activities have been acknowledged by staff and students alike with increases in the take-up of healthy choices in the canteen, increased use of fitness facilities and other activities that are helping everyone to be more aware of their health and well-being choices.
