With the pre-Christmas season upon us, those in need of fresh, homemade food will rejoice at the much anticipated launch of a new and exclusive eating establishment at the heart of Nescot College in Surrey.
Seasons Cafe, the third venture from the PFLAW stable, brings all you would expect from the team behind St Mary’s Cafe. The decor is light, airy and welcoming, combining exciting original artwork with the group’s signature purple branding.
The menu is kept short and to the point, featuring dishes we’ve come to know and love with a few modern twists. Signature creations like cheese and ham toasties were cooked to perfection and presented with PFLAW’s customary flair, while new additions included a piquant yet creamy Butternut squash soup, declared to be, ‘like swallowing velvet’, by delighted diners.
Hot chocolate, a favourite of Season’s elegant clientele, perfectly balanced richness with top notes of Galaxy. Cakes on offer showed just how the group came by their growing reputation for pudding excellence.
Service was exemplary - attentive without ever becoming intrusive and extremely helpful and welcoming. The group specialises in developing youthful talent and has clearly hit upon a star of the future in waiter Steven Fortune, recently promoted from the kitchen to front of house.
The project was brought to life after six months of collaboration between the PFLAW team and the now legendary Plumbing and Carpentry departments. With such heavyweight support, the launch had much to live up to. If they have started as they mean to go on, the staff and students of Nescot College can count themselves very lucky indeed.
Reservations at the Seasons Cafe are only available to staff and student s of Nescot College and must be made online and in advance. To book your table, go to: http://portal.nescot.ac.uk/Teaching/pflw/seasons/default.aspx
