National Apprenticeship Week at Nescot sees the launch of our own Apprenticeship VMS (Vacancy Matching Service), which is aimed at supporting both Applicants and Employers.

Throughout the Week

Other activities taking place during National Apprenticeship Week include:

Monday 6th February
Royal Marsden Cancer Trust visits Nescot to receive £183 raised by Nescot Hairdressing Apprentices.

The money was raised last week, when Nescot Hairdressing Apprentices invited members of the public and Nescot staff and students to have specialist treatments in aid of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Tuesday 7th February
Workshop & Talk - Adam Reed, professional hairdresser who has a long, prestigious and varied career creating elegant and iconic styles, which are often referred to as modern classics.

Adam has worked on programmes such as the X Factor and styled hair for stars such as Ellie Goulding, Diane Kruger, Sophie Dahl, Noel Gallagher, Henry Holland, Mel C, Agness Deyn, Erin Wasson, Joely Richardson, Plum Sykes, Jamie Winstone and Anna name but a few.

Adam has worked as head stylist backstage at prestigious shows for Marios Schwab, House of Holland, Matthew Williamson, House of Jazz and Julien McDonald, creating new commercial trends that have appeared in major publications. Whilst his editorial work is vast and includes publications such as American and British Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Grazia, Tank, W, Esquire, Nylon and How To Spend It, and advertising campaigns for Harvey Nichols, Lucozade and Agent
Provocateur, among others.

Wednesday 8th February
Apprenticeship Awards Evening - Rewarding the talent and success of Nescot Apprentices.

Thursday 9th February
Nescot Carpentry & Plastering Apprentices - start a two week project to upgrade one of the Preparation for Work & Life workshops, extending the bays, plastering and fitting new doors.

Friday 10th February, 9am to 10.30am
Nescot Business Breakfast - This event will be the official launch of the Nescot Apprenticeships VMS (Vacancy Matching Service), which will be aimed at both businesses and applicants. This event will also see the launch of Nescot Job Club, which aims to provide pathways into employment. Guest Speaker will be the Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, Minister for Employment.
