Media students watch Britain's Got Talent being recorded

Level 2 Media students visited the recording of Britain’s Got Talent on Thursday.

The group of 34 spent the day at Hammersmith Apollo, watching live auditions of the ITV show along with judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon and hosts Ant and Dec.

“It’s the first time we’ve been, but it was a great success and we’d definitely do it again,” said tutor Louise Gaskin, who led the trip.

“I think it was a very valuable experience for the students to see how the things they’ve been learning about at college come together in the industry.”

Student Dan Crow, 16, said: “It was the first time I’ve seen a programme being recorded and I think I learnt a lot about how it all works by seeing behind the scenes.”

Matt Lyons, 17, added: “It was a great experience. I’d like to be a camera man one day, so I was watching that side of things to get more of an idea of what the job is like, and how it fits in with the rest of production.”
