Uniformed Public Services students are visiting Poland this week.
Seven Higher National Diploma students and Higher Education course leader Vykke Gill will spend Tuesday to Friday in Krakow as part of a Research module and a Planning and Implementation unit.
The students have chosen the work they will do on their return, which includes a comparison of policing in Poland and in the UK, and planned the trip around this.
As well as organising flights and hotels, the students have also planned to visit the Auschwitz concentration camp and the Schindler’s Factory museum, as well as interviewing police officers.
"The students feel an ownership of the trip and what they’ll be doing because they’ve been able to take responsibility for it, so we’re all looking forward to it," Vykke said on Monday.
"Combining the Research and Planning units works really well, and the students will also be gaining skills like communication and teamwork as well as everything they learn about Public Services in Poland."
