The Colleges Governing Body has a maximum membership of 20 people, including the Principal and Staff/Student Governors. Governors are appointed, initially, for a two-year period of office (with the exception of Student Governors who are appointed for a period of one academic year and Staff Governors, who are appointed for a period of two years).
At the end of this period, Non-Staff/Non Student Governors may be appointed for one further four-year term. Governors do not normally serve for more than an eight year period. The external members are drawn from a range of backgrounds including business, local government, the health service, trades unions and the voluntary sector. On appointment, Governors usually sit on the full Governing Body and at least one of the Committees. College Governors are unpaid, voluntary positions, although travel expenses are payable.

The Clerk will send you more detailed information about the College as well as a full application pack. All applications are handled by the Search and Governance Committee, who will interview all shortlisted applicants, making recommendations to the full Governing body.
