Conflict is a normal part of life but in many work environments it can create risks that can go past the normal levels and require additional skills. Developing these skills can build the confidence to resolve difficult situations or provide positive behavioural support to improve the care that is provided.
You do not need to have any formal qualifications in order to follow this course, but you will need to demonstrate commitment and motivation to work through the specially prepared distance-learning materials.
The qualification aims to provide a sound preparation for further study and access to a range of vocational qualifications including The Level 2/3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, the Level 2 qualifications in Mental Health, the Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities, the Level 2/3 Certificates in Understanding Autism and the Level 2/3 qualifications for the Children and Young People’s Workforce.

This course is appropriate for a wide range of learners and will provide a learner with knowledge and understanding to support the learner in working in challenging situations.
The course will cover the following areas:
Candidates work through the course materials for the programme at times convenient to them, so there is no need to attend the college to gain the qualification. The learning materials contain the knowledge needed to meet the assessment requirements of the course and activities to allow candidates to practice their skills and test their learning. Assessments are based on a combination of knowledge and skills learned on the programme and work- based activities and experience. Learners should aim to complete the course within 12 weeks.
