The NCFE Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice provides you with the knowledge and skills to lead a team of internal quality assurance staff who maintain the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.

The qualification provides recognition of your knowledge and competence of leading the internal quality assurance of assessment processes and practices. You may already be employed as an internal quality assurer or in a supervisory role for a training provider, FE college or internal training department, or looking to progress to leading a team of quality assurers. You could be working in a variety of sectors.

Course Detail

Learners must be employed within an internal quality assurance role linked to qualification delivery that will enable them to evidence the requirements of the qualification. Learners should also possess communication skills sufficient to allow them to address the assessment requirements of the qualification.

Course content:

  • Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment
  • To assess performance in leading the work of a team responsible for the external quality assurance of assessment centres
  • To assess performance in assuring the quality of assessment from outside an organisation or assessment centre, usually on behalf of an awarding organisation
  • Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility

Entry Requirements

There are no formal or other nationally agreed entry requirements although an initial assessment to cover the minimum core of literacy, numeracy and ICT will be part of the initial assessment. The learner must live in England and be over 19 years of age.

Having successfully achieved this qualification, the learner may wish to progress on to further training, such as courses in NCFE level 5 Diploma in Education and Training.
