Advanced Learner Loans

If you are aged 19 or over and want to study a Further Education course at Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 you MAY be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan (ALL) to cover the course fees. The government determines which courses are eligible for Advanced Learner Loans. Awarding bodies are responsible for requesting that a course is eligible for the Advanced Learner Loan. To check whether a course is eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan please contact our Finance Team (details below).

The loans are available regardless of your current employment status, and it isn't means tested or subject to credit checks. You will only start to repay the loan once you've left the course and are earning more than £27,295 per year. If you take out a loan to do an Access to Higher Education Diploma and go on to complete a Higher Education (university-level) qualification, you will not have to repay the loan.

If you're aged 19 to 23 and don't already have a qualification at Level 3 or above, you may not have to pay tuition fees.
