Course Summary

Apprenticeships are a popular choice for people aged 16 or above, looking for on the job training and the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications whilst earning a wage. Employers will look for candidates who:

  • Have good communication skills
  • Are reliable, flexible and punctual
  • Can work in a team as well as on your own initiative
  • Are enthusiastic and willing to learn

If you do not have an employer to support your apprenticeship the college will support you to find an employer through our dedicated employer support team.

You will also need to have achieved GCSEs at 2 or above (or comparable qualification) in English and Maths. Please note, you will also be required to undertake an initial assessment to assess your current level of English and Maths and any learning support needs. Your interviewer will discuss with you what the minimum level you will need to achieve at initial assessment.

On successful completion of this Apprenticeship you will be well prepared to continue your career development in the hair industry

Apprenticeships are fully funded for those aged 16 – 18 years. There is an annual employer contribution for those aged 19+.

Where possible staff from the College Apprenticeship Team will help you find an employer and place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer). Your offer of Apprenticeship training will be dependent on work places being available.
