Entry 3 Employability - Construction or Computing Pathways

Course Summary

Student's will choose one of the following pathways: Entry Level 3 Introduction to Computing Pathway or Entry Level 3 Grounds Work and Construction Pathway.

    These courses are designed to equip students with transferable skills to enable them to “Hit the ground running” when they start work. Students will prepare for job interviews and practice interview skills, while developing skills required for the local job market.Students will study personal development and English and maths alongside the vocational pathway.

    During interview students will be assisted to identify additional support needs before establishing the right starting point. Candidates will need to show a desire to attend college before being offered a place.

    Please bring a copies of your EHCP to the interview along with a list of previous achievements. We may not be able to photocopy on the day so we would be grateful if you could provide a copy for us to keep.

    • Students aged 16 to 18, or those aged 16 to 24 who have a valid EHCP, and are studying Further Education courses are not charged course fees.

    Student's will choose one of the following pathways:

    • Introduction to Computing Pathway : Entry Level 3
      This qualification is designed in collaboration with the Level 1.5 Business and ICT team, to support student’ progression. The course develops digital software skills including word processing, using devices, handling information, imputing and editing information and keeping safe online.
    • Grounds Work and Construction Pathway : Entry Level 3
      This course is designed to help students get their first job in the sector. Students learn trades within the Foundation Learning Department, whilst overseeing the day to day running of the Foundation Horticulture area.

    The students will complete the Prince’s Trust Entry Level 3 Award/Certificate in Personal Development and Employability.

    Confirmation of high needs funding may be required from the Local Authority before enrolment. All offers are subject to Nescot being able to meet the needs set out within the EHCP.
