Course Summary

This qualification enables you to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to professionally carry out initial verification and testing on electrical installations.

It is aimed at practising electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training before going on to other City & Guilds qualifications.

This qualification is approved for candidates aged 18 or above.

Fees for 2024/25

£515 Total Cost* 

*No VAT is charged as we are an Exempt Charity, created by statute (Further & Higher Education Act 1992).



Assessment

To achieve this Level 3 Award, candidates must:

  • successfully complete one online multiple choice test (40 questions, 90 minutes)
  • successfully complete one practical assignment

Course materials required

  • On-Site Guide to BS7671:2018 Wiring Regulations
  • PLEASE NOTE: Courses from April 2022 onwards will require a new book: BS7671:2018+A2:2022
  • IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition BS7671:2018
  • Guidance Note 3: Inspection & Testing (8th Edition, publication date 31/07/2018)
  • Pen and Pencil, Notepad, Highlighter, Post-it-note marker
  • A Photo ID Card must be brought for the exam registration
