Our next Open Evening is on Thursday 15 May.
Our Level 3 Year 2 Cabin Crew students, part of our Travel and Tourism cohort, recently benefitted from an excellent learning experience at British Airways Global Learning Academy (GLA). They travelled to Heathrow Airport to take part in the Safety Equipment & Procedures (SEP) Awareness Day.
The SEP Awareness Day held at GLA covered a variety of activities. Following a welcome session with instructors, our students took part in emergency procedures and practical exercises, safety demonstrations, a pilot incapacitation drill, principals of survival, firefighting and smoke hood training, emergency slide descent and slide raft.
Victoria Williams, Travel and Tourism lecturer at Nescot said, “Thank you to British Airways GLA for the lovely welcome. Our students enjoyed the awareness day activities which gave them a useful insight into the professional working environment of cabin crew and essential knowledge for those thinking of a career in aviation.”
One of our students, Oscar found the day especially useful as he’s looking forward to beginning his career as cabin crew. He said that the day gave him a good understanding of some of the safety equipment procedures and cabin crew duties and was very enjoyable too.
