Congratulations to Nescot Level 2 Hairdressing student, Ji-Eun Jo! Winner in the Colouring category at The Concept Hair Learner of the Year Final 2025 which took place on 20 March at Telford College.
Ji-Eun was delighted to get through to the grand final and win the Colouring category. She put in hours of research and practice for the competition. Ji-Eun said, “I’ve always wanted to do hairdressing. The opportunity to take part in this competition has given me the chance to demonstrate my creativity and skills. My tutor has been so helpful and supportive throughout my training and preparation.”

The Concept Hair Learner of the Year competition, now in its sixth year, offers up-and-coming hair stylists and barbers the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity across a wide range of categories, including barbering, hair-up, styling, colouring, textured hair and avant-garde. Talented apprentices and students were selected through a rigorous entry process, judged by a panel of top industry experts. The national competition had over 2,800 entries, with the judges narrowing them down to 56 finalists and picking the overall winners.
