Free online learning for adults: click here

Nescot’s hairdressing students are offering free haircuts to visitors, staff and other learners in exchange for donations to charity.

Appointments are available during the day from Monday to Friday, and are with students who are studying qualifications up to Level 3, which is an advanced hairdressing qualification.

Clients are being asked for a donation of at least £3, all of which will go to Cancer Research UK.

“We think this is a win-win for our students and our prospective clients,” said Lisa Charles, Curriculum and Standards Coordinator for Hairdressing at Nescot.

“Our customers get a free haircut, we get to raise money for a wonderful cause, and our students get even more experience and the opportunity to increase their skills even further.”

In addition, students are offering a skin test for people thinking about colouring their hair. The price is £15, which covers clients for a whole calendar year, and can even be taken to other salons.

The cost of the skin test is also redeemed from the cost of a colour, which makes the treatment even more cost-effective.

Nescot offers Hairdressing qualifications at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, as well as Beauty Therapy at Level 2 and Level 3 and Hair and Media Makeup at Level 2 and Level 3.

The college works closely with Toni&Guy, with leading experts from the brand regularly giving masterclasses to students, as well as students working at Toni&Guy salons. For more information please click here.

Nescot also has a commercial salon on-site, Innovation, in which professionally-qualified staff offer a full range of hair and beauty treatments. For more information please click here.
