Nescot’s Level 3 and T-Level Computing students had an exciting visit to The Engineering & Design Institute London (TEDI-London) this term. They had the chance to explore the campus, speak to student ambassadors and participate in hands-on activities for a taste of engineering and innovation in action.
They particularly enjoyed taking part in the interactive quiz and the Windmill Challenge, collaborating and working in teams to design and build prototype models that were tested and evaluated. Using a set of supplies like cups, wooden sticks and tape they had to create a plan and build a windmill that functioned. Well-done to the team who built a fully functional model with an adjustable feature!
T-Level Digital Support student, Paulo said: “The whole visit was a great experience and it was very interesting to learn about the different courses available.”
Level 3 Computing student, Azal added: “It was fun making windmills as a group. It was a wonderful trip and we learnt a lot.”
A huge thank you to the team at TEDI-London and their student ambassadors for an engaging and inspiring event highlighting engineering pathways.
Abigail-Partington Moran, Curriculum Manager for Media, Music and Computing at Nescot said: “We are proud to have recently signed a progression agreement with TEDI-London. This offers our learners pathways into higher education for careers in engineering in design. It’s an exciting step for the college, enhancing our commitment to offering future-focussed and industry relevant learning experiences.”
