How to apply to study at Nescot.
Students on Nescot’s ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) course, recently celebrated the end of another successful summer school.
Claudia Aristide, ESOL and Community Learning Co-ordinator at Nescot said, “The ESOL course at Nescot has gone from strength to strength. We offer adult learners aged 19+ a varied and stimulating ESOL programme, where students excel in developing their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in a friendly and supportive environment.”
The cohort of students who attended the 2024 ESOL summer school found the course useful and helpful. Some of them shared their thoughts on their experience of the course:
Hanna said, “I applied to the ESOL summer school because I wanted to improve my English to speak fluently and found the course very helpful. I would like to thank my teachers and would recommend this course.”
Tetiana added, “The ESOL summer school course has interesting tasks and lots of spoken English practice, which helps in communicating with others. The tutors are amazing with teaching us new words and phrases.”
Auriline said, “I am loving the course and 100% recommend it. I am thankful for the support I have received from the tutors.”
Raz said, “The course is good for me, it has helped me a lot with improving my writing and reading.”
Galyna who heard about the ESOL summer school through the Ukrainian hub said, “I like the intensive English lessons. I have improved my knowledge and I'm going to continue learning English at Nescot this September. Thank you to the ESOL summer school team at Nescot!”
Another student Pauline, is also planning on attending the next ESOL course to improve her English. She said that she was lucky to join the summer school and has learnt a lot.
Claudia Aristide added, “Many of our adult ESOL learners are studying other courses at Nescot and benefit from the opportunity of continuing to improve their English language skills to support with learning, life in the community and employment. The college is a warm and vibrant place to study with many students commenting on what a difference it has made to their lives since studying at Nescot.”
