Nescot is celebrating its accreditation to the Matrix Standard, recognising the high-quality careers advice and guidance provided to students at the college in Epsom.
The matrix Standard is the international quality standard for organisations, including further education colleges, that deliver information, advice and guidance as part of their service offering.
The assessment process involved interviews with college leaders, careers advisors, and students, alongside discussions with a local employer and school to gather information and feedback on the careers service provided.
The report emphasised that staff at the college are enthusiastic and dedicated to student success, noting that 'they are clearly student-focused and committed to student progression'. It also observed that staff have a clear understanding of the strengths of the college's careers service and recognise how their individual roles contribute to supporting students collectively as a team.
Commenting on the award, Jane Williams, Director of Marketing and Admissions at Nescot said: “We are extremely proud to secure the Matrix Standard as it validates the excellent careers service we offer all our students. The accreditation gave the Careers and Admissions Team the opportunity to review their work with students and staff at the college and plan how they can continue to improve the service offered.”
Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Nescot, and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement. The matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice and with their accreditation success, Nescot is working to provide the best possible support to their students.”
