How to apply to study at Nescot.

Nescot attended the SME Surrey Business Awards on Thursday (12 September 2024) and as Platinum Sponsor had the honour of presenting two of the awards. Julie Kapsalis, CEO and Principal, and Sarah Watson, Chief Operating Officer at Nescot both attended as guests, with Sarah presenting the awards for Service Excellence and Website of the Year at the ceremony, held in Shepperton.

The awards celebrate community success, but also offer the opportunity to build relationships with businesses that are making a real impact. For Nescot, supporting local enterprise and developing partnerships with outstanding employers is key, so students can aim high, work with and learn from some of the best in the business.

Sarah Watson, Chief Operating Officer at Nescot said “We were delighted to sponsor the awards and hear more about the incredible work going on in our area. The examples of creativity, innovation and sheer determination on show yesterday were inspiring and something I know many of our students would look to replicate. Awards like these recognise aspiration, commitment and hard work – all attributes we see and encourage in our students. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of them as future winners at events like these.”

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are businesses whose personnel numbers are 250 employees or less. SMEs are also said to be responsible for driving innovation and competition in many economic sectors. The SME Surrey Business Awards are made up of 21 categories that allow successful businesses in Surrey to enter these prestigious awards. All entries are judged by up to four people from a national panel of judges.
