Well-done to all Nescot students celebrating their achievements with this year’s GCSE results. We spoke to some of them as they came in to collect their results at the college’s Adrian Mann Theatre.
Liam who passed his Maths GCSE with a grade 5, was thrilled and relieved with his results. He was Nescot’s Student of the Year 2023/24 awardee in Motor Vehicle and is returning to study the Sport and Sports Science courses.
Pavlo who studied Business and Information Technology, also passed his Maths GCSE with a grade 5. He said he was really pleased with his result and found the teaching and guidance at Nescot very helpful.
Casie was delighted to pass her English GCSE with a grade 4. She has completed her Hair and Beauty Level 1 and is returning to Nescot to do her Level 2. She said the teaching and support she has received has been invaluable.
Jacob who was on the Foundation Learning Level 1 course was thrilled to pass his Maths GCSE with a grade 5. He said, “All the support and one-to-one sessions I have received at Nescot have been so helpful along with lots of revision. I am looking forward to starting the Animal Care Level 1 course at the college.” His mum, Angela said, “I am so proud of Jacob. A huge thank you to his teachers for all the support and guidance they have given him.”
Oliver who passed his English GCSE with a grade 4 was our Student of the Year 2023/24 awardee for Esports and Digital Marketing and was also the Nescot Values Award for Ambition & Aspiration winner. He said, “I am really happy and relieved. Everyone has been so helpful. It’s a great course and I’m returning to complete my second year.”
Mohsin, who also passed his English GCSE with a grade 4 was very pleased with his result and said that the learning and teaching has been very helpful. Mohsin did his BTEC Level 2 in Computing and is returning to Nescot to do a T Level in Computing.
Nosa also passed his English GCSE with a grade 4. He was thrilled with his result and said, “I would like to thank my teacher Joanna for all the support and help she has given me.” Nosa who has completed his Level 2 Business Enterprise course, is now looking at doing an apprenticeship.
Junaid was so happy to pass his English GCSE with a grade 5 and Maths GCSE with a grade 4. He has studied the Business Enterprise Level 2 course and is currently working in sales and marketing. “The guidance and one-to-one support I have received has been amazing. Felicity is the best teacher!” said Junaid. He is hoping to become an entrepreneur with his own business.
Our adult Maths GCSE students, Sarah and Ludy were ecstatic with their results. Sarah who passed her Maths GCSE with a grade 4, said, “I am delighted and so pleased with my result. I have done this for my professional development and for myself. It has been a pleasure studying this course at Nescot. It was so easy to enrol and the small class sizes, learning and support have been brilliant.”
Ludy is celebrating after passing her Maths GCSE with a fantastic grade 6. She said, “The part-time course is excellent. I have learnt a lot from my tutor Tony who is very patient and explains everything clearly. He has an excellent attitude to teaching. It’s a great learning environment and I highly recommend this course at Nescot.” Ludy is now hoping to pursue a career in teaching.
