How to apply to study at Nescot.

One of our Level 3 Travel and Tourism students recently benefitted from a unique and excellent work experience opportunity at Newmarket Holidays.

Emily interviewed and impressed staff at Newmarket Holidays to secure her place as an ‘Elf’ for the Lapland Santa Experience Day trip. As a tour guide, she accompanied guests at the start of their journey at Bournemouth Airport until the end of their magical experience visiting Santa in Lapland.

“We practice customer service and presentation skills within assessments on the Level 3 Travel and Tourism course which has helped me prepare for working within travel,” said Emily.

She added, “This placement was an amazing opportunity to really work with customers on a special and festive experience,”

Jennifer Fasad, Travel and Tourism tutor, said, “Work experience is an essential part of this course and is a great opportunity for our students to put learning into practice. The collaboration with Newmarket Holidays has seen a number of our students benefitting from work experience with them.”

Later in the year, a group of our Travel and Tourism students will be visiting Newmarket Holidays for a workplace discovery day, giving them a chance to learn from industry experts about their journey and careers within the travel industry.
