Nescot’s Level 3 Year 2 Travel and Tourism students had a fun and exciting bespoke tour of London Gatwick airport and Delta Air Lines this week.
The students were delighted to receive a special behind-the-scenes look at Delta Air Lines. They learnt about the airline’s facilities and services, and its renowned customer service and hospitality as they toured the aircraft’s various cabins. They also interacted with the airline’s crew members and gained insights from pilots and flight attendants about their experiences. A highlight was getting the chance to sit in the aircraft’s cockpit and learn about the onboard technology.
They also explored London Gatwick, observing operations in special assistance and baggage reclaim, participating in a Q&A session on the airport’s fun facts, and discovering the varied career paths in aviation.
The students were accompanied by Travel and Tourism lecturers at Nescot, Jennifer Fasad, Kornelia Szakacs and Vicki Williams.
Jennifer Fasad said: “We are very grateful for the enriching opportunity that our students have had to enhance their learning of the airline industry on this amazing visit.
“A huge thank you to Kate Devereux, Sales Manager UK & Ireland at Delta Air Lines, Ian Nash, Trade and Tourism Business Development Manager, and Jennifer Newman, Airline Relations Manager at London Gatwick Airport Limited and their teams for taking the time to facilitate such an incredible learning experience for our students.”
