Award in Education & Training: Level 3

Course Summary

Whether you are just starting out in your teaching career or building on current experience and knowledge, this accredited course will give you a broad foundation in teaching theory and practice.

There are no formal entry requirements however, if you cannot demonstrate Level 2 ability in Literacy and Numeracy, you will be supported in working to achieve this. This may require some independent study.

On successful completion of the AET L3, one possible progression route is the Foundation Degree in Supporting Teaching and Learning. This is a 2-year full-time course providing you with an opportunity to extend your knowledge and skills in supporting teaching and learning in the classroom. It will give you an opportunity to network with colleagues and to enjoy the challenges of further study. The course is validated by the University of Greenwich.

Whilst the Foundation Degree is a qualification in its own right at Level 5, with further study it can also lead to a top-up BA Honours Degree (Level 6), followed by the Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) (Post-compulsory – Level 6).

These courses are designed for those with a real passion for teaching and will show you how to transmit that passion directly to your students in the classroom arena while giving you the solid qualifying foundations you need to teach in this exciting sector.
