College up for 'Contribution to meeting the Skills Agenda" prize.

Nescot is on the shortlist at the 2023 Central South Business Awards for its work in meeting regional skills needs.

The prestigious Awards, recognising accomplishments made in businesses of any sector, announced their shortlist last Friday (9 June). Nescot is among organisations from across the region who have made the final stage.

Nescot Principal and CEO Julie Kapsalis said, “This is testament to the brilliant work of staff across the college. Nescot is characterised by its dedication to helping employers meet skills needs and supporting individuals to improve their life opportunities. From innovative apprenticeships, like our degree-level Lab Science programme, to provision for school leavers including T-Levels, I am proud that Nescot is leading the way in skills development in this vibrant region.”

Nescot is a partner in the new regional Institute of Technology, represents the education sector on key regional trade bodies including Gatwick Diamond, and was graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted in January 2023.

The winner of the award will be announced at a ceremony at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton on 5 July.
