Nescot is proud to be working in partnership with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and Leadership Management International (LMI) to offer a Level 5 Apprenticeship in Operations/ Departmental Management.

The apprenticeship is suitable for those who are, or wish to become, operations/departmental managers. The apprenticeship includes business education, work-based learning and professional development. An operations/departmental manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects, and achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner.

Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities and job titles will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring.

Typically this apprenticeship will last up to 2.5 years.

Course Fees

A 5% employer contribution fee may be applicable depending on the age of the apprentice and the size of your organisation.

Entry Requirements

You will need to have achieved GCSEs at grade 9 - 4 (or comparable qualification) in English and maths. Please note, you will also be required to undertake an initial assessment prior to enrolment in order to assess your current level of English and maths. Your interviewer will discuss with you what minimum level you will need to achieve at initial assessment.

Your Next Steps

On completion, staff members may choose to register as Associate members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, to support their professional career development and progression.
