Course Overview
The Level 2 Diploma in Brickwork at Nescot is a one year course, available on a full or part-time basis to fit around your existing commitments.
The course is a combination of practical and theory sessions enabling you to gain good practical skills with underpinning job knowledge of brickwork.
Entry Requirements
You will need to hold a Level 1 Diploma in Brickwork and a Functional skills qualification at the required level for the course.
You will have an informal advisory interview with a construction tutor. Your discussion with the tutor will be for approximately 30 minutes and you will have the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the content of the course.
English & Maths : GCSE Grade 3 and 2 or Level 1 Functional skills and Level 1 Brickwork.
What the course covers
You will work towards achieving 6 units of competence, a Synoptic Practical Assignments and an end of year GOLA examination. To support your programme you will be required to attend English classes.

‚ Building methods and construction technology 2
‚ Setting out masonry structures
‚ Thin joint masonry and cladding
‚ Solid walling
‚ Cavity walling.
You will be given details of the course materials, stationery and health and safety equipment you will require when you enrol on the programme.
This CSKILLS/NOCN qualification is recognised by the construction industry as a training programme, however it does not qualify for the award of a CSCS Card.

Fees are for 2026/27 entry and apply to students eligible for home fee status. Progression
You may progress on to Level 3 Brickwork, an apprenticeship or alternatively seek employment.
