Course Overview
The Legionella Prevention and Water Treatment course is designed for Operatives who carry out work on water supply systems within residential properties.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirement for this course is a valid Water Regulations qualification.
What the course covers
The course includes:
- Background to Legionnaires disease
- What is Legionella Bacteria and how it is transmitted
- Identifying problems in different systems
- How to comply with the law, Duties and obligations
- Assessing risk, control of risk, reducing risk
- Methods of treatment, prevention and disinfection
- Record keeping

Progression
Once you have proved competence, you will meet the requirements of the HSE Approved Code of Practice L8 : The control of legionella bacteria in water systems.
