Nescot is once again in the running for this year’s Surrey Business Awards, as a finalist in the prestigious ‘Large Business of the Year’ category. Winners will be revealed at a spectacular awards ceremony in Guildford on 12 November, celebrating the outstanding achievements of businesses across the county.
The Surrey Business Awards, held in association with Surrey Chambers of Commerce, is the largest and most prestigious business event in the county. Finalists were meticulously chosen by a distinguished panel of judges, consisting of industry experts and influential business leaders.
This marks the second consecutive year Nescot has been recognised at the Surrey Business Awards, following its win as ‘Employer of the Year’ in 2024. Nescot’s nomination in this year’s award for ‘Large Business of the Year’ recognises the college’s continued contributions to education, innovation and community engagement, as well as its strong leadership and strategic growth.
As one of the largest employers in the region, Nescot has been delivering high-quality education for over 70 years. With more than 650 staff supporting over 6,000 learners each year, the college empowers individuals to achieve their goals and transform their lives through learning. Its deep-rooted commitment to serve the community is reflected in ongoing partnerships with charities, employers, and local organisations. Students and staff regularly participate in fundraising initiatives, and the college collaborates with businesses on a wide range of impactful projects.
“We’re so proud that Nescot is a finalist in the Large Business of the Year category,” said Julie Kapsalis, Nescot Principal and CEO. “What makes Nescot special is its people and the transformational work they do every day to change people’s lives through learning. This nomination reflects the hard work and passion of our staff, students and partners. The college has consistently demonstrated qualities that have earned it a place among Surrey’s top-performing organisations. We look forward to celebrating alongside fellow finalists at the upcoming awards ceremony.”
In addition to its finalist status, Nescot is also a proud sponsor of the ‘Future Talent of the Year’ Award, which recognises the achievements of young professionals aged 18-30 who have demonstrated exceptional promise and determination in their careers.
Julie added: “We’re delighted to support the Future Talent of the Year award. It was an honour to judge this category. Congratulations to all the finalists, we look forward to celebrating with you on the night.”
Maarten Hoffmann, Managing Director of Platinum Media Group and organiser of the event, commented: “The standard of entries this year has been exceptional. We continue to be inspired by the innovation, resilience and ambition shown by businesses across the region. Being shortlisted is a significant achievement and we’re excited to celebrate the remarkable impact these businesses are making on the regional economy.”
