Careers in Creative Media

Our Creative Media courses prepare you for progression into the Creative Industries by delivering engaging and inspiring experiences and utilising our industry standard facilities such as the ESports Hub, Podcast Suite, TV Studio, Screening room and seven media labs fitted with the adobe suite and game engines.

Careers in Art & Digital Design

Our Art & & Design courses are ideal if you are creative and want to explore specialisms from fine art, sculpture, fashion, textiles, graphic design, digital design, to 2D and 3D concept art, and animation. Through hands-on learning, students experiment with traditional and digital techniques, including industry-standard software and equipment, while also reflecting on their work and gaining inspiration from visits to galleries and museums.

Creative Media

Our courses are for aspiring filmmakers, producers, editors and cinematographers. If you want to work in the film or TV industries, this is the place for you.

You’ll work on exciting, real-world projects including music videos, short films, documentaries, TV news, podcasts, and VFX and sound design, giving you the chance to explore your creativity. As you develop your skills, you’ll build a professional showreel or portfolio to showcase your work and stand out in the industry.

Art & Digital Design

Our students creative experience is designed to unlock your potential and build real confidence, with plenty of opportunities to showcase your talent through exciting public exhibitions each term.

As you explore areas like fine art, fashion, digital design, illustration, and concept art, you’ll create a professional portfolio that truly stands out—while learning from passionate tutors who bring real industry experience into the studio every day.

Creative Media

  • Excellent equipment, including lights and HD cameras, and industry-standard editing suites, with broadcast-standard software like Adobe Premiere, After Effects.
  • Latest innovations in lighting, tracking and sound hardware, and more than 100 Adobe-equipped networked Macs.

Art & Digital Design

  • Purpose-built, naturally lit studios and specialist workshops for printmaking, 3D & digital work.
  • Access to darkrooms, photography studios and facilities for working with sound.
  • The department has an open studio policy so you can often work in the department outside normal class hours.
  • Industry-standard processing, digital imaging and photography studios with Broncolor lighting, complete range of film cameras.

Creative Media

  • Your experience is enhanced through a dynamic programme of trips, guest speakers, and workshops, with opportunities to visit places like New York, Berlin, and Barcelona, as well as film sets, TV studios, and major events such as Eurogamer, Comic-Con, and the Harry Potter Studios.
  • You’ll also plan and produce your own film on location in the UK, making your learning both hands-on and unforgettable.

Art & Digital Design

  • The journey is brought to life through inspiring trips, hands-on workshops, and guest speakers from across the creative world—from iconic London galleries to international visits.

Career pathways

Creative Media

  • Many of our Creative Media students have gone on to achieve exciting careers across the media and creative industries, from working as an ILM Producer on Aladdin and a Sound Recordist on The Crown, to roles on major productions like The X Factor.
  • Others have built careers as music videographers or secured opportunities with leading studios such as Framestore.
  • Many continue their journey at top universities and courses, studying areas like TV production, cinematography, journalism, events management, and digital film production, turning their passion into successful and inspiring careers.

Art & Digital Design

  • Career pathways for our Art & Design students are diverse and rewarding, and include: animator, graphic designer, fashion designer, illustrator, photographer, set designer, visual merchandiser, as well as opportunities in areas like brand development and trend forecasting—allowing students to turn their creativity into a successful future.
  • Students have also progressed to many recognised universities such as Oxford University, London College of Fashion, Chelsea College of Art, University of Brighton, University for the Creative Arts and Central Saint Martins. 

I was thrilled to win first place for a competition for my innovative video essay, ‘Aspirations’, that explores how young carers can fulfil their dreams. I applied the skills learnt on my course to create the video. My tutors have been very supportive and proud of my work.
