Carpentry and Joinery Workshop Apprenticeship
WOODLAND OF KINGSTON LTD
Starting: 01/06/2023

A typical week is planned to allow the apprentice to experience every aspect of our manuacturing process with a full day every week in each area

  • Machining - covering selection of timber for the job, reading drawings to determine cutting required, cutting on a range of CNC and manually operated machines (the range of machines used is age dependant)
  • Joinery - learning the use and application of various joints, construction of sash windows, casement windows, French Doors, Bi-fold door. 
  • Finishing and Spraying - filling and sanding joined timber and preparing for spraying. Use of various paints and stains. Spraying base coat, top coat and prepartion between coats
  • Glazing - Manufacture of double glazed unit, installing double glazed unit into timber products. Use of different glazing products and glass types.

The day release course will take the fifth day every week. 

By the end of the course the apprentice will be capeable of taking any role in a timber workshop.
